About the role

We are seeking a Capital Project & Maintenance Manager to join our chemical plant operations team. This role combines maintenance management, project engineering, and team supervision to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations within the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Project Management Expertise - Supervise teams, manage contractors, execute capital projects from conception through commissioning, and coordinate complex maintenance activities across multiple sites.
  • Technical & Analytical Proficiency - Engage in engineering work, conduct root cause analysis, troubleshoot equipment, develop detailed work scopes and procedures, and utilize systems like SAP.
  • Compliance & Safety Focus - Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations, implement Management of Change processes, and maintain regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
    • Minimum 3 years of experience working in chemical production environment
    • Demonstrated experience managing capital projects and supervising contractors
    • Technical knowledge and understanding of chemical process equipment including utility systems, piping, rotating equipment, instrumentation, and electrical systems
    • Ability to interpret and create process drawings (e.g. layout, piping & instrumentation, electrical)
    • Knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, and reliability fundamentals
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organization, and communication skills
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities
    • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple assignments
    • Ability to travel up to 15%
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience managing direct reports
    • SAP Maintenance planning and scheduling experience
    • Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and ISO 9000/QS 9001 quality systems
    • Project Management certification
    • Six Sigma or LEAN Manufacturing experience

  • Compensation: The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $100,000 - 135,000
