Maintenance C Crew - Machine Repairman

Responsibilities

• Maintain Preventive Maintenance Schedule
• Perform full diagnostics on equipment and advise Maintenance Supervisor and/or Purchasing Manager of parts required to perform necessary mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs
• Physically maintain machines and equipment
• Ensure all paperwork and logs are completed prior to shift end
• Follow Machine Safety Guidelines, ensure proper lock-out procedures are followed at all times
• Maintain proper company housekeeping standards
• Responsible for maintaining company tools as required to fulfill duties
• Support weekly production requirements
• Participate in continuous improvement activities
• Assist in monitoring downtime/uptime and abide within Department/Company goals
• Abide by all company policies including Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and DMS Employee Handbook
• All other duties as assigned by Supervisors and Managers

Requirements

• High degree of mechanical aptitude and complete understanding of mechanical and electrical procedures
• Journeyman card
• Knowledge of machine rigging procedures
• Knowledge of machining and welding
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Ability to read drawings, blueprints, specifications, and manuals
• Ability to incorporate technical reports
• Good communication skills in English, both written and oral
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position, and successful completion of a credited apprenticeship program
• Experience with repairing large tonnage presses and performing Preventative Maintenance
