Maintenance B, 2nd shift
BASIC FUNCTION
Maintains machinery, equipment, physical structures by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs preventive maintenance on all equipment.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Repairs and maintains hand tools, impact guns, rivet guns and foam guns etc.
- Affixes to Maintenance A Personnel with various machinery and equipment repairs.
- Visually inspects machinery and equipment and notifies other maintenance personnel and/or maintenance supervisor if repairs are needed to machinery or equipment.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
- Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
- Operates forklift, and other maintenance related equipment (examples include but not limited to man lift, golf cart, van, snow plow etc.)
- Reports work related injuries and near misses to supervision.
- Wears all required PPE and follows applicable safety/environmental rules.
- Corrects or reports unsafe conditions observed within the plant.
Qualifications
- Two years of related experience in one or more of the following areas: machinery and equipment Preventive Maintenance, wood and metal fabrication, welding, mechanical repair of industrial equipment.
- At least one year must be in overall general preventive maintenance.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience in one or more of these areas will be considered.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and Preventative Maintenance procedure manuals.
- Ability to maintain Preventive Maintenance reports.
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must be able to read and use all measuring equipment including but not limited to (tape rules, micrometers, and amp probes).
- Ability to define problems with mechanical devises such as rivet guns and foaming guns.
- Basic PC knowledge preferred.
- Forklift license required. Must be able to obtain within three (3) months.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 100 pounds.
- Uses hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Stands and walks frequently.
- Sits, climbs or balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
- Talks or hears.
