Maintenance Attendant

Responsibilities

• Repairs on toilet facilities including soap dispensers.
• Clearing drains by means of plunger and handheld auger.
• Perform general labor, such as carrying, stacking, and sorting of materials used in and around the job site, as well as debris removal.
• Using Employer supplied vehicle, travel for parts and supplies.
• Repairs on registers and radiators.
• Minor repairs on furniture and floors.
• Maintaining and/or replacing door hardware.
• Repair of floor maintenance equipment and venetian blinds.
• Maintenance painting in equipment rooms, cooling towers and other touch-ups in building facilities.
• General cleaning in mechanical spaces and perimeter induction units.
• Clean up job site and equipment by means of vacuum, mop, broom, floor scrubber, waxer, steam cleaner, high pressure spray cleaner, as well as other types of cleaning devices or equipment.
• Cleaning and painting of non-operating mechanical equipment which has been shut down, locked out and tagged by a Journeyman Engineer in accordance with A1iicle XXI - Safety Lockout Program.
• Miscellaneous handyman work requiring the limited use of hand tools.
• Cleaning roof drains, air vents, registers and radiators (without direct supervision).
• Replacing lamps and cleaning light fixtures (without direct supervision).
• Maintenance of toilet facilities, excluding energized systems (without direct supervision).
• Replacing ceiling tiles not affecting fire sprinkler systems and other energized systems (without direct supervision).
• Minor repairs of furniture and floors (without direct supervision).
• Replacing air filters (without direct supervision).
• Cleaning of engineering shop areas (without direct supervision).
• Replacing fire extinguishers (without direct supervision).
• Hanging framed objects that does not require the use of power tools other than cordless drill/drivers (without direct supervision).

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders.
• Ability to work in tight spaces.
• Ability to perform physical labor related to maintenance and repair.
• Noise level in work environment usually moderate to loud.
• Possible frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock.
• Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places and outside weather conditions.
• Availability to respond to after-hours emergencies as necessary.
