About the Role

Vitro is seeking a General Maintenance Mechanic responsible for performing plant maintenance safely and efficiently to support high production levels. The role involves adhering to environmental policies, following safety procedures, and maintaining good housekeeping. The incumbent will troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, with expertise in welding, millwrighting, pipefitting, and electrical work. This position is part of a continuous 24/7 operation with a rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform plant maintenance in a safe and orderly manner to ensure high production levels.
• Adhere to Vitro’s environmental policies to minimize impact on the environment.
• Follow all safety rules and procedures, maintaining good housekeeping in work areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Perform welding, millwrighting, pipefitting, and electrical work as required.
• Conduct preventative maintenance in an industrial setting.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of bearings, gears, couplings, cylinders, valves, and solenoids.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
• Basic welding and fabrication skills.
• Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with 3-phase electrical systems and control systems troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced fabrication ability.
• Basic machining skills with mills and lathes.
• PLC and advanced motor control experience.

Pay

Salary Range: $29.87–$31.26 per hour.
