Maintenance
About the Role
At FrieslandCampina, our Maintenance Technicians are the problem-solvers who keep our plant running. When production depends on equipment performing at its best, you're the one who can diagnose the issue, make the repair, and get things moving again. We're looking for experienced maintenance professionals who enjoy troubleshooting, thinking on their feet, and taking pride in fixing equipment the right way, not just the quickest way.
What You'll Do
As an Industrial Maintenance Technician, you'll help keep our operation running safely and efficiently by troubleshooting equipment, making repairs, and preventing unexpected downtime. Your day could include:
- Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
- Repairing and maintaining production equipment and facility systems.
- Performing preventative maintenance to help prevent breakdowns before they happen.
- Replacing motors, pumps, bearings, conveyors, valves, gearboxes, and other production equipment.
- Reading blueprints, equipment manuals, and electrical schematics.
- Working closely with Production to quickly diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
- Completing maintenance work orders and documenting repairs.
- Helping identify ways to improve equipment reliability and plant efficiency.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Following all food safety, quality, and workplace safety requirements.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, Millwright, or similar skilled maintenance role.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, pumps, bearings, conveyors, and power transmission systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food, dairy, beverage, or ingredient manufacturing.
- Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Technical degree, apprenticeship, or skilled trades certification.
- Experience working in GMP or food manufacturing environments.
Who Thrives in This Role
- Stay calm when equipment goes down.
- Like finding the root cause, not just the quick fix.
- Take pride in quality workmanship.
- Think ahead to prevent future problems.
- Enjoy working with Production, Engineering, and their fellow Maintenance teammates.
- Put safety first in everything they do.
- Never stop learning.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position is performed in a food manufacturing facility where safety and quality are always the top priorities. You'll regularly:
- Stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in tight spaces throughout a 12-hour shift.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work around moving machinery, electrical systems, compressed air, and food processing equipment.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
- Wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and other required safety equipment.
