About the role
The Maintenance 3 position at Carmeuse Americas involves:
- Weekly execution of Preventative Maintenance equipment inspections and repairs.
- Daily repair and rebuild work (both scheduled and reactive when necessary).
- Daily visual inspection of various equipment including crushing, kiln, hydrator, packaging, belts, conveyors, screws, elevators, scales, dust collectors, fines, dust bins, product bins, and mobile equipment.
- Performing assigned kiln outage work including refractory work, fabrication of process parts, welding repairs, and rebuilding of mechanical processes.
- Inspection and operation of mobile equipment such as front-end loader, bobcat, forklift, manlift, 38-ton crane, and other equipment as needed.
- Works cooperatively with other Maintenance and Production employees with minimal supervision.
- Completing maintenance and inventory/parts documents and records.
- Maintaining adherence to legislative requirements during maintenance work.
- Reporting production/electrical/mechanical issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Using personal protective equipment and maintenance task specialty equipment.
- Willingness to learn and work constructively with all members of the team.
- Executing "On Call" duties during weekends (current a 4-week rotation between Maintenance personnel) and off-shift hours during weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
The Maintenance 3 position includes, but is not limited to:

Requirements
Qualifications for the Maintenance 3 position include:
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Millwright certification program is offered to all Maintenance 3 employees who want to voluntarily accept the education opportunity.
- The program is a 4-year self-paced certification that is of no cost to the employee and carries a 4-year work commitment post completion.
- There is an hourly pay rate increase for each year completed during the program.

Skills required for the Maintenance 3 position include:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and equipment manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak professionally and effectively with other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Ability to deal with both standardized situations and environments that change real-time during maintenance work progressions.

Pay
The hourly pay rate for the Maintenance 3 position is competitive and may vary based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
The normal scheduled shifts for the Maintenance 3 position are Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 3:30 PM. However, "On Call" duties during weekends and off-shift hours may be required.
