Maintenance

Essential Functions

• Willingness to follow direction and learn maintenance.
• Cleaning and sanitizing of apartments to include all surfaces and appliances.
• Removing trash and furniture from apartments.
• Perform general repairs that includes but not limited to painting, drywall, flooring, doors and hardware replacements.
• Maintain grounds utilizing lawn mowers, weed eaters, and leaf blowers.

Requirements

• Preferred experience in maintenance and/or custodial work.
• A high school diploma (or equivalent) preferred; must have basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with staffs & clients.
• Task oriented - Proven experience in working independently in the absence of direct supervision.
• Team oriented - Experience working in groups and can treat others in a positive manner; must be able to communicate effectively with agency staff, facility staff and facility manager.
• Demonstrated ability to manage time and schedule requirements.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry weight up/down flight of stairs.
• Must be able to move, walk, lift, bend, stand, grasp, climb steps/ladders and able to work in an elevated environment.
• Must be able to tolerate physical contact with, use of, and in close proximity to approved cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Must be able to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings.

Schedule

The daily schedule is for the first shift, Monday-Friday with breaks and meal periods. There is the possibility of after-hours calls as needed.
