Maintenance Associate-Yard and Property- 1st Shift

About the role

Primarily responsible for the cultivation and care of the grounds/yard surrounding the facility. Performs all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Under minimal supervision, ensure grounds/yard surrounding the facility are well maintained.
• Perform landscaping duties such as mowing, planting, weeding, fertilizing, pruning, etc., to keep plants, shrubs, and trees healthy.
• Perform minor facility exterior maintenance such as sweeping/clearing sidewalks, painting, light‑bulb replacement, and other minor structural repairs.
• Assist others when requested in the repair and maintenance of grounds and facility.
• Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Certifications

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Experience and Skills

• Previous experience in landscaping a plus.
• Ability to work unsupervised and self‑motivate.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
• Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.

Safety Requirements

• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in hot, wet, and/or cold environments.
• Ability to stand up to 8 hours.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lb.
