Maintenance Associate - PM Shift Sun-Thu
Job Summary
Oversees, maintains, and performs non-skilled repairs on equipment and other structures within a distribution center.
Nature and Scope
Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instruction. Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor. Deviations from the norm are cleared by the supervisor. Under close supervision, exercises limited latitude/independent judgment. Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior coworker and/or supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Completes basic building maintenance tasks or works with vendors on more complex tasks, including painting, plumbing, electrical lighting, HVAC, and material handling equipment repairs.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment for distribution associates.
- Performs limited preventative maintenance inspections on assigned warehouse equipment assets and buildings.
- Delivers equipment status reports on open and closed maintenance work orders.
- Provides operational support for general warehouse duties.
- Assists with parts inventory management and reports maintenance problems to management.
- Operates material handling equipment, battery equipment, and other powered equipment.
- Ensures hazardous materials are properly stored, managed, and maintained.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience performing general building maintenance functions.
- Experience with painting, general plumbing, electrical, and HVAC maintenance.
- Knowledge of mechanical building construction of commercial properties.
Education and Experience
HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally, 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
Work Environment
Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
