Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety is a primary concern; prevent failures or escapes that could result in injury. Label, maintain, and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all related activities.
  • Maintain and follow a standard operating procedure (SOP) for power consumption in the Processing department, minimizing power use without negatively impacting productivity or changeover time.
  • Submit a formal quarterly report on new or improved equipment upgrades/redesigns that enhance product quality, safety, or manufacturing efficiencies, including reduced scrap.
  • Provide qualitative and quantitative improvement updates to the Maintenance Supervisor on a weekly basis.
  • Follow the routine maintenance schedule (minimum one machine per week), including detailed cleaning, lubricating, greasing, and inspecting for loose wires, bolts, or dirty stripe heads using a checklist.
  • Maintain inventory of basic replacement products (e.g., pots, fuses, switches, motors, boards, heater elements) and ensure the replacement parts housing area complies with 6S standards.
  • Store and organize all tools in a locked area, ensuring they are in good working condition. Follow the formal SOP for tool check-in and check-out.
  • Discuss stocking levels of consumables for quick response to machine failures with the Maintenance Supervisor at regular intervals.
  • Work within expected cycle times for repair and maintenance (R&M), mitigating and minimizing downtime based on failure types.
  • Complete machine overhauls/cleanings at regular intervals per the Maintenance Supervisor’s SOP. Demonstrate working knowledge of all machines, including functions, limits, and uses, and troubleshoot issues effectively.
  • Maintain and organize manuals/information by machine, digitizing all documents and storing them on the internal server. Create a maintenance log for each machine, documenting all work, dates, and details of performed tasks, including power log meter data for replacement parts.
  • Formally document any machine modifications with written explanations and drawings when practical. Centralize and organize all logs, manuals, modifications, and related documents.
  • Maintain stock levels of daily operational consumables (e.g., cleaning products, paper products, garbage bags). Ensure facility beautification for customer visits and morale, including daily trash removal inside and outside the building.
  • Respond rapidly to R&M issues (e.g., respooler failures, light replacements). Perform routine maintenance on cyclical facility items (e.g., filters, drains, battery upkeep) following the Maintenance Supervisor’s SOP.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school education or equivalent.
  • Must be pursuing or have completed a maintenance-related certification, program, or degree.
  • Willingness to be cross-trained and open to flexibility in various job functions.

Skills

  • Ability to squat, bend, and lift; can lift 5–15 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
