Maintenance Assistant - PART TIME

About the role

This position involves performing general maintenance and preventative/predictive maintenance on various injection, auxiliary, and plant support equipment in an Assistant capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Keeps molding machines free of debris and oil.
  • Cleans the production area floor around the production equipment.
  • Supplies maintenance and production equipment with proper lubrication.
  • Paints equipment using spray gun or paintbrush.
  • Performs general repair work on building.
  • Maintains machines, tools, and work area in a clean and safe orderly manner.
  • Performs all duties within established safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Follows lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Follows requirements established under Job Safety Analysis training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Follows all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Amcor “No Injuries Safety Contract” and as trained.
  • Understands and communicates all hazards and safety issues to co-workers and Supervisors.
  • Properly uses all required personal protective equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or graduate of vo-tech program preferred.
  • Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, and decimals.
  • Ability to speak, write, and read effectively using the English language.
  • Ability to print legibly and fill out forms.
  • Ability to retain machine locations, equipment rooms, and safety equipment.
  • Logical reasoning with the ability to respond to instructions and follow through.
  • Ability to plan basic day based on list of objectives that are noted on daily work lists.
  • Setco forklift license and ability to operate and hand jack and powered work platforms.
  • Able to respond in emergency situations such as fires and accidents.
  • Able to use hand drills, grinders, and saws.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Able to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Able to work overtime, if needed.

  • Communicable Disease – Annual
  • Forklift Certified based on job duties
  • Aerial Lift Certification
  • Arc Flash Training

  • Stand/Walk for up to 11 hours per shift on a concrete floor
  • Work 12-hour shifts day or nights, including weekends and holidays
  • Bend; turn/twist; kneel; squat; crawl; climb; reach out and up; turn wrist; grasp; and have finger manipulations
