Role Overview
The Assistant Building Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintaining and preserving property assets, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and operational efficiency. They lead by example, resolve maintenance issues across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and appliances, and oversee make-ready and turnover processes to facilitate resident move-ins. They implement preventative maintenance, uphold safety standards, and manage grounds and general upkeep. The role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and a proactive safety mindset.
Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years in trades or residential maintenance with HVAC, EPA/NAPE certifications
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, risk management, OSHA, MSDS
- Proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and painting
- Excellent communication, professional appearance, and tech-savvy
- Ability to work in varying weather, climb ladders, and lift 10-50 pounds
- Availability for emergency on-call duties
