Maintenance Assistant
About the role
We are hiring for a Maintenance Assistant at RHA Health Services. This is a Regular position.
Responsibilities
- Manages tools, equipment and bench stock.
- Conducts periodic maintenance inspections and ensures basic safety standards are addressed.
- Identifies potential hazards and implements protocols to ensure safety measures are accomplished.
- Captures work orders with Home Managers and other staff supervisors to plan maintenance without interfering with residential or center activities.
- Buys, repairs, and installs various fixtures and equipment.
- Paints interior and exterior surfaces.
- Installs glass, shades, blinds, curtains, fans, and locks.
- Replaces damaged tiles and covers.
- Ensures compliance with building codes.
- Develops and coordinates plans for reconstruction, renovations, or installations of new equipment or buildings.
- Sets up bids for construction/renovation projects as needed.
- Estimates costs of parts and supplies for scheduled maintenance.
- Reviews manufacturer’s service manuals and records of maintenance issues to determine optimal preventive maintenance schedules.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Four years of experience in general maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license with personal vehicle insurance.
- Proficiency in company-sponsored training and certifications.
Qualifications
- One to three years of related experience and/or training preferred.
- Ability to drive and maintain a personal vehicle.
