Maintenance Assistant

About the role

Midsouth Steel, a leader in the erection and fabrication of structural and miscellaneous steel, has an immediate need for a Maintenance Assistant. This is a full-time, direct hire position offering great benefits and opportunity for advancement. The position is on‑site.

Responsibilities

• Assisting Lead Maintenance Tech with all of his duties
• Troubleshooting machinery
• Low voltage electrical work
• Holding ladders
• Carrying materials
• Learning from Lead Tech on the job

Requirements

• Good mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Punctuality and dependability
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
• Must be able to read a tape measure
• Good computer skills
• Willingness to learn
• Knowledge of safety fundamentals

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
