Maintenance Assistant
This is a PART-TIME position, with expected 20 to 25 hours per week, and is not benefit eligible. Most hours would be completed Tuesday through Saturday during the day, with occasional evening work as needed.

We operate communities in the western US and are seeking the right Maintenance Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Provide care for residents' suites, gathering and social spaces
- Assist with major and minor mechanical systems of the building
- Perform maintenance and repairs on the building exterior and grounds
- Offer customer service to seniors
Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- Ability to obtain CPR & First Aid Certification
- Current negative TB test
- Possess the ability to sit, stand, bend, and move continuously during work hours
- Ability to carry or transfer up to 50lbs with assistance
- Ability to pass criminal record/background check
- Efficient and good time management skills
- Able to work independently with little oversight
- Track record of top-notch organizational abilities and communication skills
- Capability with hand and power tools
- Valid driver license with clean driving abstract
- Willing to attend and incorporate into work efforts different types of training
Qualifications
- Experience in facilities maintenance, equipment repair, interior painting and/or wall repair, groundskeeping, safety programs is a plus
- Relatable experience working in seniors housing as a Maintenance Assistant
- Experience in customer service, warehouse, military, industrial or technical environments
- Experience in various forms of repair work and preventative maintenance

- Knowledge necessary to perform common household repairs and touch-up painting
- Demonstrated follow up and documentation abilities
- Ability to safely operate various types of cleaning equipment
- Ability to take feedback and incorporate it into efforts
- Understanding or willingness to learn basic maintenance and housekeeping practices
- Proven track record of being hardworking with a get it done attitude
- Understanding or willingness to gain an understanding of the various forms of dementia and how residents with dementia can continue live with purpose

Our compensation package will be flexible for this role based on the credentialing, tenure, and skill sets each candidate brings for consideration. The hourly wage range for this position is $18.00 to $23.00 per hour. Prior experience working with seniors is a plus.
