Job Description

The Maintenance Assistant performs maintenance and construction work around the facility. He or she will maintain the grounds, parking lots and equipment; perform cleaning tasks as needed in all areas, as well as paint, plaster and inspect equipment to make sure it is properly functioning.

Responsibilities

• Work on the cooling, plumbing, gas, electrical, mechanical, oxygen and communication systems
• Perform carpentry duties as needed
• Paint, plaster and refinish items as needed
• Perform heavy duty cleaning
• Change screens and storm windows
• Inspect all equipment and systems regularly to ensure proper functioning and safety
• Advise Maintenance Director of any repair needs concerning structure, equipment and grounds

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of relevant experience
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to make decisions independently
• Ability to understand and follow both written and oral instructions
