Maintenance Assistant

About the role

The Maintenance Assistant position at Sarah Brayton Nursing Center is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to join their team. They aim to provide the highest level of care for residents through a happy and supportive staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintains building and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Maintains and repairs basic functions of the center as determined by the Maintenance Director.
• Takes care of the tools and equipment.
• Makes minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkling systems, generators, emergency lighting, fire alarms and extinguishers, changes filters on HVAC equipment, carriers, lifts, and stocks supplies.
• Assumes supervisor’s responsibilities in his/her absence.
• Puts customer service first.
• Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED and basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing, and carpentry.
• Ability to comply with HIPAA laws.
• This position requires reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language.
• Comply with all vaccination and testing requirements as required by state and federal regulations.

Job Skills

• Works closely with and follows directions from the Maintenance Director.

Schedule

The position is full-time with an 8-hour shift from 8am to 4pm, 40 hours per week.

Work Location

The position is located in-person in Fall River, MA 02720.
