Maintenance Apprentice

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs: carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, electrical and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC).
• Excellent customer service skills to interact with property managers, vendors, customers, etc.
• Involves constant movement, standing, walking, bending, able to stretch during shifts
• Able to lift, press, push, pull, carry a minimum of 60lbs up to 75lbs
• Ensure mechanical equipment and systems are working in order and fixed as necessary.
• Able to drive a golf cart on premises
• Able to access confined spaces measuring approximately 18 inches x 24 inches
• Create and maintain work orders
• Create and maintain purchase orders
• Perform any additional maintenance related duties as required by HBM supervisor/property management

Skills/Qualifications

• Must pass background check
• High school diploma/GED preferred
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle preferred
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• General preventative maintenance experience is preferred (Basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, painting and/or drywall)
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
• Must have good public relations skills and communication
• Customer service oriented
• Strong organizational skills
