Maintenance and Repair Workers, General

About the Role

Responsible for maintaining and repairing county health department facilities, equipment, and vehicles. Duties include building, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, grounds maintenance, office moves, courier deliveries, vehicle inspections, contractor escorts, safety checks, and emergency response support. Occasional travel is required.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License
• General commercial maintenance experience
• HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and irrigation knowledge
• Basic computer skills (including Microsoft Outlook)
• Ability to lift heavy items (furniture, boxes, filing cabinets)
• Comfortable handling biomedical waste and general grounds cleanup
• May occasionally use a personal vehicle for work-related duties
• Must pass Level 2 Fingerprint Background Check (FBI level)

Qualifications

Candidate must answer YES to all of the following:

• Can occasionally use personal vehicle for official business
• Can perform heavy lifting
• Can handle biomedical waste and grounds cleanup
• Has HVAC/VAV experience
• Has drywall, painting, and pressure washing experience
• Has plumbing installation/repair experience
• Has electrical installation/repair experience
• Has basic carpentry experience
• Has irrigation system experience
• Has basic computer and Outlook skills
• Has a valid Driver's License
