About the role

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. The Maintenance Administrator is responsible for supporting maintenance operations through effective inventory management, procurement of parts and supplies, vendor coordination, and maintenance recordkeeping. This position ensures that maintenance personnel have the necessary parts and materials available to minimize downtime and maintain efficient plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase maintenance parts, supplies, and equipment as needed to support operational requirements.
  • Create and process purchase orders (POs) in accordance with company procedures.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Obtain quotes, compare pricing, and ensure timely delivery of ordered materials.
  • Manage inventory levels within the maintenance crib/storeroom to ensure adequate stock of critical spare parts.
  • Receive, organize, label, and store maintenance inventory in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Pick up parts and supplies from local vendors when needed to support urgent maintenance requirements.
  • Assist maintenance technicians and team members by locating and providing required parts and materials.
  • Maintain maintenance records, equipment documentation, and inventory databases.
  • Support the planning, scheduling, and tracking of preventive maintenance activities.
  • Update and maintain preventive maintenance records to ensure compliance and equipment reliability.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of maintenance parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Organizational and recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and internal teammates.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working for a manufacturing company.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and/or related experience.
  • Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
