MAINT WORKER - GENERAL
About the Role
The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of maintenance duties in and around the facility buildings including painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, preventative maintenance and testing, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining equipment and machinery. The Maintenance Technician reports to the Lead Maintenance Technician and assists in completing tasks, and other related duties as assigned.
About Oak Plains Academy
Oak Plains Academy is a comprehensive and highly structured 98-bed residential treatment program offering psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents, struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. Residents receive an individualized treatment plan, geared to meet their personal needs. A professional team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and teachers serve hundreds of children and adolescents annually with the common goal of treating and healing trauma and building resiliency in the residents we serve. Located on 20 acres of rolling hills in a rural setting, about 45 minutes from Nashville, Tennessee, Oak Plains Academy campus features a full-size gymnasium, dining hall, separate academic building, and four dormitories.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Trade or vocational school training preferred
- 2–3 years experience in plant operations and general grounds and building maintenance required
- Skills and intermediate knowledge of HVAC equipment, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting and landscape maintenance required
- 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license in good standing
- Intermediate computer skills; utilizes Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Microsoft Office suite for administration of maintenance tasks
- Physical demands include heavy demand; walking, standing, bending, lifting objects in excess of 50lbs to 100lbs, pushing and pulling
- Must have experience using hand and power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments
