ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Troubleshoots and repairs moderate to complex equipment problems.
- Reads blueprints, understands plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical systems.
- Understands the basic principles of the extrusion and production processes and materials used.
- Welds and assists in the installation, modification and operation of production equipment.
- Performs mold changes and modifications.
- Follows plant preventative maintenance procedures.
- Is capable of data entry and some analysis of Maintenance Management System (OOPS).
- Follows and participates in plant safety/housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment.
- Remains compliant with SQF / HACCP requirements as per this location’s written “Food Safety & Quality Policy”
Qualifications
- Must be able to work 545p- 6a, and every other weekend
Education and Experience
- 1-2 years of related experience and/or training and/or completion of the Maintenance I, Skills Assessment.
Reasoning Abilities
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic, flammable or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
