About the Role
Assists in repairs and maintenance of the physical structure of a nursing center in a safe and efficient manner, following applicable federal, state, and local regulations and established procedural guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine maintenance of air conditioners and heaters.
- Uses pressure washer as requested.
- Operates electrical tools and equipment, including voltmeter, drills, and saws.
- Checks oxygen levels of concentrators as requested or needed.
- Performs routine maintenance of oxygen concentrators as scheduled or needed.
- Conducts water temperature tests as requested or scheduled.
- Tests fire alarm systems and fire safety equipment as scheduled or needed.
- Builds structures for patient use, such as benches and flower boxes, using materials like wood, plaster, cement, and nails.
- Completes general maintenance tasks, including plumbing repairs, unclogging drains, repairing washers and dryers, and replacing broken pipes or water lines.
- Maintains and replaces electrical outlets, light bulbs, and wiring in equipment.
- Installs and checks batteries in smoke alarms.
- Assists in fire drills and checks fire extinguishers.
- Removes or relocates furniture and belongings from unoccupied rooms.
- Paints interior or exterior of the center, including wallpapering, as requested.
- Assists in constructing additions to the center.
- Maintains grounds by removing garbage, mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and weeding.
- Performs routine maintenance on laundry equipment as scheduled or needed.
- Handles unscheduled maintenance tasks as requested.
- Performs generator testing and routine maintenance as scheduled or needed.
- Assists with major cleaning projects as requested.
Requirements
- On-the-job training provided.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- High school graduate or equivalent.
