About the role

Stew Hansen Buick GMC, part of the Ken Garff Automotive Dealership family, is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician (Mechanic) who embodies our core values of respect, integrity, growth, humility, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Perform efficient and expert work on repair orders, adhering to dealership, state, and factory standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of all factory-technical bulletins.
  • Address customers' primary concerns with diagnosis, repair, and quality control to meet 'Fixed First Visit' expectations.
  • Conduct the KG Electronic Multi Point Inspection on every vehicle; promptly inform the Service Advisor of additional issues, fewer issues, or extended repair times.
  • Master the Dealer Management System (Reynolds) for timekeeping, work distribution, electronic inspections, repair quotes, and communication.
  • Ensure accountability for all dealership-owned tools and maintain a clean workspace and customer vehicles ("leave no trace" standard).

Requirements

  • 2 to 3 years of automotive technician (mechanic) experience preferred.
  • Accommodating and analytical, with highly precise and accurate work.
  • ASE or dealership manufacturer certifications.
  • Accurate work with excellent dexterity, patience, creativity, good judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Unselfish and approachable, preferring detailed, skill-based work.
  • Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the U.S.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid in-state driver's license with a good driving record, per company standards.

Qualifications

  • Highly skilled in reading and comprehending job-related instructions and information, both electronic and paper-based.
  • Proficient in operating a valid in-state driver's license and maintaining a good driving record.
