Mainframe Z/OS Operations, CICS And Scheduling Specialist

About the role

Provide production operations expertise covering z/OS consoles, CICS, HOD, PCOM and Zeke scheduling, with a focus on stable batch and online processing.

Responsibilities

• Support z/OS operational activities and troubleshoot production issues.
• Monitor and administer Zeke scheduling, including jobs, calendars, dependencies and batch execution.
• Analyze failed or delayed batch processes and coordinate recovery activities.
• Support CICS regions, transactions, interfaces and operational troubleshooting.
• Provide expertise with HOD and PCOM, including terminal connectivity and mainframe user access support.
• Perform z/OS console monitoring and respond to system or application alerts.
• Use IBM NetView and IBM System Automation knowledge to support monitoring and automated response.
• Escalate and coordinate incidents with agencies, application teams and Ensono.
• Document recurring issues, recovery procedures and operational requirements.
• Apply knowledge of comparable scheduling products, such as CA or Tivoli Workload Scheduler, where applicable.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on Zeke scheduling experience.
• Production z/OS operations and console experience.
• CICS support and troubleshooting.
• HOD and IBM Personal Communications experience.
• IBM NetView and System Automation.
• Batch monitoring, JCL and job-dependency analysis.
• Experience supporting mission-critical government or enterprise mainframe applications.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
