Mainframe Technical Specialist

About the Role

This is a 1-year remote contract position based in Long Beach, CA, with a preference for candidates in Pacific or Mountain Time zones due to batch application schedules.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and document COBOL applications on IBM Mainframe (z/OS) and Micro Focus Enterprise Server/Developer.
• Perform support and system administration activities.
• Resolve customer satisfaction issues and respond promptly to customer queries.
• Provide on-call support and resolution during non-traditional work hours.
• Manage client interactions with strong communication and professionalism.

Requirements

• Good experience with IBM Mainframe (z/OS) and Micro Focus Enterprise Server/Developer.
• Strong knowledge of IBM COBOL, JCL, IMS, SQL, and file systems.
• Experience with Python and PowerShell.
• Good analytical and communication skills.
• Flexibility to support non-traditional work hours for on-call resolution.

• XA connections.
