Mainframe PL/I Developer- Bloomington, IL (Onsite)

Location: Bloomington, IL (Onsite) • Duration: 12 Months

About the role

We are seeking a Mainframe PL/I Developer with specialized knowledge in Health Insurance applications. The role involves designing, developing, and supporting health-related applications using Mainframe technologies, including both development and production support.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support Health Insurance applications using Mainframe technologies (PL/I, IMSDB, DB2, JCL, COBOL, SAS).
• Debug applications using IDB/IDZ.
• Deploy and manage code using GIT.
• Coordinate activities between Product Owners and Business Units to drive open action items to closure.
• Work in an Agile environment.
• Utilize scheduling tools like Control-M.
• Integrate Webservices, REST APIs, JSON, and Message Queues (MQ).

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience with PL/I, IMSDB, DB2, JCL, and SORT.
• Strong experience in Health Insurance application development and support (excluding Group Health Insurance).
• Hands-on experience with COBOL, SAS, REXX, VSAM, and other Mainframe technologies.
• Experience with GIT, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of AWS cloud and AI capabilities is a plus.
