Mainframe IMS Application DBA
What's the Job?
Manage and support IMS database environments in a high-availability enterprise setting.
Design, support, and optimize IMS database performance and data integrity.
Perform backup, recovery, and reorganization activities for mission-critical applications.
Collaborate with application development, system programming, and operations teams to ensure seamless database operations.
Participate in complex database projects, including migrations and infrastructure support using emerging methodologies.
What's Needed?
- Minimum of 7 years of DBA experience supporting IMS databases in a z/OS environment with Sysplexed Data Sharing.
- Strong knowledge of Full Function, Fast Path, and HALDB databases, including secondary indexing and logical relationships.
- Hands-on experience with IMS utilities, database monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency with JCL, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, REXX, and batch/online IMS environments.
- Experience with database recovery, abend resolution, and data integrity issues.
