Mailroom Equipment Operator
Job Summary
The Mailroom Equipment Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring mailroom machinery to ensure accurate preparation, packaging, and distribution of printed materials. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production flow, meeting deadlines, and upholding quality and safety standards in a fast-paced commercial printing environment.

Essential Functions
- Set up, adjust, and operate mailroom equipment including inserters, stackers, plastic wrap machines, bottom wrappers, and strapping/tiering equipment.
- Ensure accurate inserting, labeling, sorting, and packaging of printed products for distribution.
- Operate inkjet labeling systems to apply addressing and variable data as required.
- Transport printed materials and finished products using powered equipment such as electric pallet jacks.
- Monitor equipment performance and product quality; make adjustments as needed to maintain efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area in accordance with company housekeeping standards.
- Adhere to all safety policies, including OSHA regulations and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Meet production deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
- Maintain prompt and reliable attendance.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Prior experience in a mailroom, manufacturing, or commercial printing environment is a plus.
- Must have mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn and operate complex machinery.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate machine interfaces and input data.
- Ability to read and interpret job tickets, safety guidelines, operating manuals, and production instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
