About the role
At Magnolia Table in Waco, Texas, the Host is responsible for greeting, checking in, and seating guests while contributing to an efficient front-of-house flow. This position reports to the Assistant Front of House Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the highest level of guest care, in line with Magnolia’s brand
- Greet incoming guests with enthusiasm and provide information to ensure a seamless experience
- Strategically manage the flow of guests by pre-assigning and seating
- Obtain reservation information and provide accurate wait times to guests
- Assist with bussing and resetting tables when needed
- Ensure menus are cleaned between uses
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment that is always guest-ready
- Assist with running drinks and food when needed
- Respond to guest needs when possible and/or communicate to a manager if necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- 0-1 years of related work experience preferred
- Food Handler's license and TABC certification required upon hire
- Must be available to work weekends, nights, special events, and holidays as business needs require
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell
- Frequently required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment
- Operates in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Routinely uses sinks, dishwashers, and tools to clean kitchen appliances
- Frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals
- Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions
- Noise level in the work environment is intermittent sounds at a level sufficient to cause hearing loss or fatigue
- Subject to high and low temperatures and workplace hazards
