Responsibilities

• Review orders prior to the day of procedure to ensure accuracy and to avoid delay in patient care.
• Provide excellent patient care by educating and preparing patients for their procedure and MR safety while utilizing effective communication.
• Absorb and document accurate patient medical history to assist radiologist’s interpretation.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety for the duration of their procedure.
• Perform MRI procedures as required based on physician’s order.
• Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of MRI and related coils to obtain highest quality images of the anatomy being scanned.
• Start I.V., load and operate power injector, and administer contrast media as directed and per protocol.
• Completion of exam in hospital information system.
• Cleaning and maintaining all imaging equipment.
• May also assist with mentoring and/or training students, new hires.

Qualifications

• Education Qualifications: Associate's Degree under the completion of a Radiologic Technology program Required or Certificate under the completion of MRI technology program Required.
• Experience Qualifications: Minimum one (1) year MRI experience Preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Magnetic Resonance Imaging - American Registry Radiologic Technologist or registry eligible (if eligible must obtain MR certification within 24 months of hire or transfer date)
• Radiography - South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association
