Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist - UI Health, MRI Diagnostic Services

About the role

Responsibilities

• Performs routine Magnetic Resonance Imaging exams and procedures
• Utilizes department clinical protocols to obtain optimal quality imaging
• Navigates electronic medical record and other information systems to process imaging
• Performs venipuncture and contrast injection as required per scope of practice
• Aids in training and education of MRI students
• Participates in the enforcement of MRI safety practices
• Provides technical assistance to researchers who are conducting MRI studies
• Responds to patient, subject, and/or staff service and patient experience issues
• Adheres to regulatory standards such as The Joint Commission, ACR, IDPH and Infection Control policy
• Reports equipment failures and supply shortages as needed

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Current/Valid registration or certification of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) by either: the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); OR the American Register of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
• Current CPR BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Qualifications

Illinois residency is required within 180 days of employment.
