Responsibilities
- Performs routine Magnetic Resonance Imaging exams and procedures
- Utilizes department clinical protocols to obtain optimal quality imaging
- Navigates electronic medical record and other information systems to process imaging
- Performs venipuncture and contrast injection as required per scope of practice
- Aids in training and education of MRI students
- Participates in the enforcement of MRI safety practices
- Provides technical assistance to researchers who are conducting MRI studies
- Responds to patient, subject, and/or staff service and patient experience issues
- Adheres to regulatory standards such as The Joint Commission, ACR, IDPH and Infection Control policy
- Reports equipment failures and supply shortages as needed
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Current/Valid registration or certification of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) by either: the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); OR the American Register of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
- Current CPR BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Qualifications
Illinois residency is required within 180 days of employment.
