Overview
Element Materials Technology is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented NDT Technician (Level II or Level III) specializing in Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) to support aerospace and industrial testing operations in the Hartford laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Perform Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) on aerospace and industrial components in accordance with applicable procedures and specifications (e.g., ASTM, NAS, customer requirements)
- Interpret and evaluate indications to determine acceptability of parts
- Set up, calibrate, and operate MPI equipment (bench units)
- Ensure compliance with Nadcap, customer, and internal quality requirements
- Accurately document inspection results and maintain traceability of records
- Review work instructions, blueprints, and customer specifications prior to inspection
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with safety standards
- Develop, review, and approve NDT procedures and techniques
- Provide technical guidance and training to Level I and Level II personnel
- Serve as the responsible Level III in accordance with NAS 410 / SNT-TC-1A
- Interface with customers, auditors, and regulatory agencies
- Support audits (Nadcap, customer, internal) and corrective action
Qualifications
- Certification in Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI): Level II or Level III per NAS 410 and/or SNT-TC-1A
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree or technical training preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Experience in aerospace inspection environment
- Familiarity with Nadcap requirements
- Multi-method NDT certification (e.g., PT, UT) a plus
- Prior experience with digital reporting systems

Benefits
Salary: $70,000 - $85,000/yr DOE
