Machinist (Plant) I- 3rd Shift

About the role

The Plant Machinist supports the tool and die needs of the production and maintenance departments. The normal work week is approximately 50 hours if business demands require overtime. In addition, weekends are scheduled as needed based on production demands.

Responsibilities

• Operate various machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses to produce precision parts and tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to ensure accurate part fabrication.
• Maintain and operate equipment in a safe manner to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and make necessary adjustments to machine tools.
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience in machining or tool and die making.
• Knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation.
• Ability to read and understand technical specifications.
• Basic knowledge of machine operation and maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in using common machining tools and equipment.
• Experience with CNC machines is a plus.
• Good communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Skills

• Proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
