Responsibilities

  • Overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair chemical plant production equipment including turbines, fans, blowers, pumps, gearboxes, and conveyors
  • Use dial indicators and laser alignment tools
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and precision instruments
  • Machine parts to specifications using lathes, milling machines, shapers, grinders, and other machine tools
  • Measure, examine, and test completed units for defects and conformance using precision instruments such as micrometers
  • Set up, adjust, and operate basic and advanced machine tools to perform precision machining operations
  • Review blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine fabrication methods, sequences, and product dimensions/tolerances
  • Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machinery work
  • Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock to indicate cut placement
  • Maintain and perform preventive maintenance on machine tools in the shop
  • Work rotating shifts in a 24/7, 365-day continuous operation when required

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Licensed Journeyman-level Millwright or Machinist, or successful completion of a state-certified apprenticeship program or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in industrial machine maintenance and repairs

Additional Qualifications

  • Supply own tools starting first day on the job
  • Knowledge of mechanical fits and tolerances
  • Knowledge of tools and methods to troubleshoot and maintain industrial production equipment
  • Understanding of high-speed machinery principles
  • Understanding of mechanics principles
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and ability to comply with OSHA procedures
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, control system drawings, and repair manuals
  • Ability to perform basic math computations
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow oral and written instructions

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $44.44.
