Machinist (Level 2)

Level 2 CNC machinist responsible for processing, programming, and setting up prototype and production parts.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate 3 axis CNC machines (limited programming).
• Select and order appropriate tooling for each job.
• Run production and rapid prototype jobs.
• Troubleshoot problems with manufactured parts and implement solutions.
• Inspect one-off and multiple-piece orders to meet customer print requirements.
• Help develop lower-level machinists as instructed.
• Perform CNC and manual lathe and mill setup.
• Estimate job hours.
• Create fixtures.
• Communicate job status, problems, and other pertinent information to machinists and managers.

Requirements

• Ability to safely operate, understand, and set up various CNC and manual equipment.
• Ability to read and understand drawings.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of G and M codes.
• Level 2 Certification in MasterCam (preferred but not required).
• Good knowledge of GD&T.
• General math skills, including basic trigonometry and algebra.
• High school diploma or GED.
