Machinist III/Repair Technician

About the Role

This position completes rework and upgrades using machine tools and equipment, including measuring workpieces, installing machine parts, and performing quality inspections. The Repair Technician evaluates returned parts and documents their condition using photography, pressure testing, print reading, and basic Word and Excel skills. Reworks parts using techniques such as chemical paint stripping, sandblasting, lapping, filing, and buffing cosmetic damage. Reassembles parts using reworked and new components, following work instructions and ensuring work meets quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate dimensions of workpieces, products, or equipment
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Repair or upgrade precision parts using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurements
  • Set up and operate various types of equipment while maintaining a safe environment, including but not limited to: ovens, hoists, sandblasters, parts washers, alignment and measuring equipment, exhaust hoods, and sanding tables
  • Program more complex parts to be machined
  • Measure and outline parts to be machined using various devices and tools to obtain accurate dimensions
  • Assist with design of basic manufacturing fixtures
  • Evaluate and document condition of incoming returns and parts & rework required for repair
  • Complete rework operations to bring parts to like-new condition
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in area of responsibility
