Machinist III

About the role

Thompson Pipe Group is seeking a Machinist III to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for machining and milling steel products, measuring each dimension precisely, and making necessary adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Machining and milling steel products
• Measuring each dimension accurately
• Making precise adjustments during the process
• Operating overhead crane and jib hoist
• Operating forklift

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience using metal machining tools such as vertical boring mills, horizontal and vertical lathes, drill presses, etc.
• Experience in taking and working from extremely precise measurements
• CNC machine operation experience preferred but not required
• Safety-first attitude, respectful to all persons, responsible, dependable, and trustworthy
• Pass forklift safety course and demonstrate safe practices
• Pass overhead crane training course
• Familiarity with machinery and basic mechanical aptitude
• Ability to understand and interpret drawings for basic dimensions
• Flexible for non-standard working hours
• Good organizational/housekeeping skills and problem resolution skills
• Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs

• Read and write legibly
• Read and understand shop drawings

Pay

$27.00 per hour

Schedule

10 hour shift, Monday to Friday, weekend availability
