About the role
This position is located at Emerson/Rosemount Facility. The Machinist II role involves setting up and operating production machines, maintaining product and process quality, and participating in improvement teams.
Responsibilities
- Independently identifies and works on assignments that are non-routine and moderately complex.
- Works on assignments that require judgment in resolving problems and making recommendations.
- Ensures product and process quality is maintained through visual inspection, measuring instruments, and testing as required.
- Takes initiative to troubleshoot and problem solve, and makes recommendations to address concerns.
- Documents all product travelers ensuring proper quality documentation as applicable to a given process.
- Enters data and performs computer transactions as appropriate.
- Participates in Improvement Teams, Lean Manufacturing, 5s + 1 efforts to help improve quality, shorten cycle times, and reduce manufacturing costs.
- Performs preventative maintenance on, and ensures calibration of, equipment, tools, and fixtures, as required.
- Assists in the orientation and training of other machinists.
- Rotates to the work that needs to be done, inter and/or intra departmentally as appropriate.
- Keeps work areas clean and organized, in accordance with 5s+1 principles.
- Maintains good safety, attendance, and performance records.
- Able to read, interpret, and follow written, visual, drawings and verbal work instructions.
- Demonstrates ability to perform complex setups and capable of machining complicated parts on two or more machines.
- Demonstrates ability to read, understand and edit man readables and programs.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly and work well with all members of a team.
- Demonstrates ability to follow all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- 1 year as Machinist I (internal candidates)
- 2+ years machining experience required for external candidates
Qualifications
- Able to read, interpret, and follow written, visual, drawings and verbal work instructions.
- Demonstrates ability to perform complex setups and capable of machining complicated parts on two or more machines.
- Demonstrates ability to read, understand and edit man readables and programs.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly and work well with all members of a team.
- Demonstrates ability to follow all company policies and procedures.
Skills
- Basic understanding of metal properties.
- Ability to follow written instructions and read blue-print specifications.
- Ability to identify safety concerns and take appropriate action.
- Ability to actively participate in Improvement Teams, Lean Manufacturing, 5s + 1 efforts.
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance on, and ensure calibration of, equipment, tools, and fixtures.

Pay
The hourly pay range for this role is $25.12 - $31.50 commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
