Machinist I

About the Role

Ascentec Engineering is looking for level 1 machinists to join our team in Dallas, Oregon. We embrace the GWC philosophy (Gets It, Wants It, Capacity to Do It). Shifts Available

• Swing Shift: Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
• Weekend Day Shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

All shifts are full-time and eligible for an industry-leading shift differential. This position is on site at our Dallas, Oregon facility and not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload parts for machining up to 40 pounds
• Perform basic equipment maintenance
• Read and interpret manufacturing prints
• Possess efficient math skills and basic understanding of geometric tolerance
• Check parts using basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges
• CNC setup and operation; tech tools, load programs and set/adjust work/tool offsets accordingly (Haas, Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma controls are a plus)
• Inspect machined parts following 1st Part and in process inspection protocol
• CNC 3 axis experience, 4 & 5 axis machining experience is a plus
• Able to change fixtures, replace tool changes and manage tool libraries

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Able to multitask and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Experienced in the set-up and run of 3-axis vertical CNC mills, 4 & 5 axis is a plus
• Experienced with multiple metrology tools for measuring and recording part dimensions
• Self-Starter / Self-Motivated / Flexible / Detail Oriented

• Trade school and/or at least one year experience in the manufacturing environment preferred but not required

Compensation & Benefits
