Requirements
- Follow ALL safety procedures and meet attendance requirements.
- Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
- Makes measurements, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
- Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, CNC mills.
- Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
- Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
- Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
- Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly.
- Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
- Develops specifications from general description and draws sketches of part or product to be fabricated.
- Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.

- Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Writes routine reports and correspondence.
- Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Computes rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Applies common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Deals with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Uses hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reaches with hands and arms; talks or hears.
- Walks, sits, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls occasionally.
- Has specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Can lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs. safely.
