About the role
We are a group of scientists, engineers, designers, technicians, and others dedicated to developing medical isotopes to treat and eradicate cancer. We also enjoy various team-building activities.
Responsibilities
- Operate machine tools to create precision parts from metal or other materials
- Perform diverse machinist tasks, applying procedures and independent judgment to meet specific work requirements
- Calculate dimensions, lay out work, and set up machine tools using applied mathematics
- Leverage expertise in machining various metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and steel
- Operate CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam and utilize precision tools like micrometers, calipers, and height gauges
- Write and interpret "G" code for machining operations
- Maintain tools and machines
- Ensure quality and safety of equipment and processes
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- 5+ years on the job experience
- Basic computer skills & math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals
- Skilled mechanical aptitude
- Experience with CNC Mill or CNC Lathe
- Experience with Mastercam or equivalent CAD/CAM software
- Proficient use of micrometers, calipers, and height gauges
- Experience with Bridgeport, manual lathe, and drill press
- Experience writing and interpreting "G" code

- Standard operating hours: Monday thru Friday 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Expectation of adjusting working hours outside the standard hours to meet operational requirements as needed
- Niowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area and travel between locations is expected in the role
