Key Areas Of Responsibility

• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Works in accordance with plans and specifications.
• Inspects completed work for conformance to specifications using such tools as calipers, height gauges, micrometers, rulers etc. (English standard and metric.)
• Clean and repair shop equipment.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area.
• Perform work following all applicable safety procedures and policies.

Requirements

• High School diploma or a GED required
• 3+ years as a CNC Machinist
• Significant knowledge of CNC machine operation and maintenance
• 3+ years of relevant experience in Manual Machining
• Excellent attention to detail
• Able to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Work well independently and within a team
• Has the ability to coordinate efforts with fellow coworkers
• Considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade
• Considerable knowledge of the maintenance and repair of machine shop tools and equipment
• Needs a strong appreciation of the importance of completing tasks on time
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change and unexpected events.
