About the role
Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Machinist (2nd Shift) - Tool & Die to join our team in Reno, NV!
Responsibilities
- Determine and assess damage to existing tooling and what steps necessary to repair tooling.
- Determine if die is dull or cracked and needs to be resharpened or repaired.
- Determine if the poor quality of a product is the result of a tooling problem, or a setup problem.
- Perform die changeovers for different products.
- Read blueprints, use calipers, micrometers, and tape measure for checking dimensions.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years machining experience.
- Minimum 3 years experience in an industrial environment.
- Ability to read blueprints, use calipers, micrometers, and tape measures for checking dimensions.
- Must be skilled in the operation of lathes, grinding machines, milling machines, drill presses, and surface grinders.

Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format.
- Able to work safely and produce effectively with minimal supervision.
- Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
- Able to regularly lift 35 pounds without assistance. Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical data, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.
- Strong organizational, presentation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficient with computers and programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint).

Pay
The hourly rate for this position is $34.20 plus .50 shift differential per hour.
Schedule
The core hours are 2:30PM - 11PM.
