Machinist (2nd Shift) - Tool & Die

About the role

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Machinist (2nd Shift) - Tool & Die to join our team in Reno, NV!

Responsibilities

• Determine and assess damage to existing tooling and what steps necessary to repair tooling.
• Determine if die is dull or cracked and needs to be resharpened or repaired.
• Determine if the poor quality of a product is the result of a tooling problem, or a setup problem.
• Perform die changeovers for different products.
• Read blueprints, use calipers, micrometers, and tape measure for checking dimensions.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years machining experience.
• Minimum 3 years experience in an industrial environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, use calipers, micrometers, and tape measures for checking dimensions.
• Must be skilled in the operation of lathes, grinding machines, milling machines, drill presses, and surface grinders.

Skills

• Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
• Able to regularly lift 35 pounds without assistance. Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical data, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.
• Strong organizational, presentation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Proficient with computers and programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint).

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $34.20 plus .50 shift differential per hour.

Schedule

The core hours are 2:30PM - 11PM.
