Machine Technician II

Location: 221 Grove Street, New Castle, Pennsylvania 16101

Schedule

12-hour 2-2-3 rotating shift: 7:50pm–8:20am

Pay

$22.25/hour with a $1.00 shift differential

About the role

As a fully competent Machine Technician II, you will operate blow-mold, grinders, trimmer machines, and conveyor systems. The role is responsible for troubleshooting process problems and performing minor maintenance to ensure continued operation of the production line while following Good Manufacturing Practices.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate mastery of entry-level Machine Operator skills and teach Level-1 Machine Operator skills
• Adhere to quality control and blow-mold process procedures
• Troubleshoot and resolve process issues using mechanical abilities
• Apply working knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures
• Maintain critical processing outputs (adjusting parisons, tail adjustments, regrind levels, weight controls, and other operator-required adjustments)
• Run two lines consistently
• Repair or replace pneumatic and hydraulic lines
• Assist with preventive maintenance, mold, neck and blow pin, and other mechanical changes
• Troubleshoot and resolve process problems
• Operate on multiple platforms, cross-functional, train entry-level Machine Operators, and shadow Machine Operators (site-specific, if applicable)
• Efficiently change colors without excessive product loss
• Receive instructions on specific job tasks from Lead Operator or Supervisor; assistance is provided on unusual problems
• Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs

Requirements

• Intermediate mathematical skills
• Intermediate computer experience
• Three or more years of equivalent machine operator experience
• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of Altium Machine Technician Level II training

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Work Environment

• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts in a production environment
• Loud noise levels
• Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas
