About the Role

The Machine Technician II operates blow‑mold, grinders, trimmer machines and conveyor systems, troubleshoots process problems, and performs minor maintenance to keep the production line running. The role also follows the company’s Good Manufacturing Practices and includes all responsibilities of a Machine Operator.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates mastery of entry‑level Machine Operator skills and teaches Level‑1 Machine Operator skills.
• Adheres to quality control and blow‑mold process procedures.
• Applies mechanical abilities to troubleshoot and resolve process issues.
• Uses preventive maintenance procedures and knowledge.
• Maintains critical processing outputs (e.g., adjusting parisons, tail adjustments, regrind levels, weight controls).
• Runs two production lines consistently.
• Repairs or replaces pneumatic and hydraulic lines.
• Assists with preventive maintenance, mold, neck, blow‑pin, and other mechanical changes.
• Troubleshoots and resolves process problems.
• Operates on multiple platforms, cross‑functional tasks, trains entry‑level Machine Operators, and can shadow Machine Operators as needed.
• Efficiently changes colors without excessive product loss.
• Receives job‑specific instructions from Lead Operator or Supervisor.
• Receives assistance on unusual problems and applies sound professional judgment.
• May be required to work reasonable mandatory overtime due to business needs.

Qualifications

• Intermediate mathematical skills.
• Intermediate computer experience.
• Three or more years of equivalent machine operator experience.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Completion of Altium Machine Technician Level II training.

Physical Demands

The employee regularly stands, walks, uses hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 lb.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a production environment with moving mechanical parts and loud noise levels. Plant temperatures fluctuate between hot and cold seasonally. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
