Responsibilities
- Operate one or more FL/SR extrusion lines to produce high-quality zipper and film products in compliance with customer specifications, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure personal and environmental safety.
- Use appropriate PPE and communicate hazards to peers and supervisors.
- Comply with BRCGS and GMP standards, reporting any food safety concerns immediately.
- Set up, start, adjust, and shut down extrusion equipment and winding systems.
- Perform material changeovers and assemble production components.
- Adjust machine parameters (heat, water, tension, winder) to maintain quality.
- Aid in R&D trials and troubleshooting mechanical/electrical issues.
- Perform and document regular product quality checks using appropriate tools.
- Read and follow specifications, input production data accurately in systems.
- Collaborate with QA and rerun rejected products when necessary.
- Conduct daily/weekly housekeeping and equipment cleaning.
- Change screens, filters, and safely handle approved cleaning agents.
- Support co-workers and cover for breaks as needed.
- Train new operators as directed by leadership.
Requirements
- 2+ years of Machine Operating experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of extrusion processes.
- Basic math and data entry skills; ability to interpret specs and measurements.
- Visual attention to detail and ability to distinguish colors and defects.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, prioritize tasks, and work independently under pressure.
Qualifications
- A strong desire, dedication, and determination to succeed, by continually improving skills through on-the-job training and various offered educational opportunities.
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing environment or related area.
