About the role
The Machine Shop Supervisor will oversee daily machine shop operations, personnel, and production activities while ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery. This position will be a leader who can balance production requirements with quality expectations while developing employees and supporting a positive, accountable work environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily activities of machinists, programmers, and support personnel.
- Cookordinate manpower and machine resources to meet production schedules.
- Monitor workflow and production priorities to support on-time delivery objectives.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, engineering drawings, work instructions, and process specifications.
- Provide technical support and guidance for manual machining, CNC machining, setup, tooling, and work holding activities.
- Support setup, troubleshooting, and resolution of machining-related issues.
- Promote and enforce safe work practices throughout the machine shop.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
- A High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 5+ years of machining experience, including manual and CNC machining operations.
- 2+ years of manufacturing leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of manual lathes, manual mills, CNC mills, and CNC lathes.
- Experience with Hurco and/or Fanuc-controlled equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of GD&T.
- Experience troubleshooting machining and manufacturing issues.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Aerospace manufacturing and/or FAA Part 145 Repair Station experience.
- Familiarity with Mastercam.
- Experience supporting AS9102 First Article Inspections.
- Experience managing low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environments.
- Leverage lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.

- Must have reliable transportation to get to work each day.
- Must perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
- Maintain customer-oriented work habits.
- Completion of work orders, FAA paperwork.
