About the Role

The primary functions of this position are to supervise the machine shop (American Roto Tool) and be hands-on with programming, set-up, and machine tooling based on 3D models, prints, or verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate machines for jobs of moderate complexity and difficulty.
  • Meet productivity and quality expectations while striving for continuous improvement.
  • Supervise employees, drive projects, and manage schedules.
  • Train others, troubleshoot, and collaborate with teams as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and act as a Safety Leader.
  • Work toward achieving work center guideline certification.
  • Follow work scheduling guidelines and understand delivery objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and maintain a strong work ethic and good attendance.
  • Report any machine or process problems.
  • Manage multiple tasks, including running several machines simultaneously.
  • Regular and punctual attendance is required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (college diploma preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience with operation and set-up of CNC machines.
  • Programming and design experience is a plus.
  • Rotational molding experience is a plus.
  • Leadership and supervision experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of manufacturing-related experience.
  • Willingness to pursue further education and professional development.

Skills

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, create, and understand work instructions and prints.
  • Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to perform basic math computations and computer data entry.
  • Proficiency in using measuring devices (e.g., calipers) and hand/power tools (e.g., drills).
  • Good visual ability to detect quality defects.
  • Ability to read and interpret operating manuals and engineering standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, heat, and cold.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain standing throughout the shift (day shift).
